Carolyn J. Heckman, PhD
Dr. Heckman earned her doctorate in Counseling Psychology from the University of Iowa and completed a postdoctoral fellowship in Health Psychology and Addictions at Virginia Commonwealth University. She is currently an Associate Professor in the Cancer Prevention and Control Program at Fox Chase Cancer Center in Philadelphia and is a licensed clinical health psychologist. She has completed an NCI K07 career development grant and is currently conducting her first R01 grant, both of which explore interventions to improve skin cancer risk behaviors. The R01 is a project developing and testing a tailored interactive internet intervention to reduce cancer risk behaviors in young adults. Dr. Heckman has also recently completed an NCI R21 and R03 and has been funded by the ACS.
