Cynthia Perry, PhD, FNP-BC

Cynthia Perry is the Director of the Family Nurse Practitioner Program and Associate Professor at Oregon Health & Science University (OHSU) in Portland, Oregon. She continues to practice as a family nurse practitioner. She received her PhD in 2005 and was a faculty member at University of Washington for 8 years before joining the faculty at OHSU in July 2013. Her program of research aims to eliminate health disparities by promoting physical activity across the lifespan with diverse populations. She employs a community-based participatory research (CBPR) approach in working with communities in order to develop meaningful and sustainable interventions to promote physical activity in populations experiencing health disparities. She has been working with a rural predominantly Latino community in central Washington state for over 7 years and is ready to conduct dissemination and implementation research with this community. Additionally she recently joined an established research team at OHSU whose research focuses on exercise programming to improve cancer survivors’ outcomes.
