Nicole Vaughn, PhD

Dr. Vaughn, a research health psychologist, is an Assistant Professor in the Dornsife School of Public Health at Drexel University in Philadelphia, PA. She received her Masters and Doctorate in Medical Psychology from Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences (USUHS) in Bethesda, Maryland. Over the past decade, Dr. Vaughn has led and co-led community-based participatory research (CBPR) and health disparities projects focused on both adults and youth in Philadelphia. Recently, she was the principal investigator of a Comcast and United Healthcare funded project focused on prediabetes prevention and weight loss behaviors using the Project NOT ME® video series in African American churches entitled, “Getting People in Sync (GPS)”. She is currently expanding her chronic disease prevention research to better understand how leveraging technology as well as university, community and industry partnerships can enhance widespread dissemination, implementation and translation of evidence-based programming in minority communities.
